Please note: this is NOT a list of
overseas schools for beginners. Some BHPA
Registered Schools offer training abroad, but it should
be noted that the BHPA has no remit to register or to regulate foreign
schools. Prospective pilots considering ab-initio training abroad
should confirm that the school is either a UK based BHPA
Registered School conducting training abroad in
accordance with BHPA requirements, or is a school operating under the
auspices of the governing body of the country concerned. If the latter,
check that an IPPI Card qualification is offered. In the case of courses for post-CP pilots
- eg XC courses and SIV training - pilots should satisfy themselves
as to the quality of instruction on offer. There are no
BHPA instructor qualifications or training syllabi for these
activities. A leaflet on SIV courses is available in
PDF format or from the BHPA office.
